Eastman Kodak Files For Bankruptcy Protection
It came as quite a surprise to learn that Kodak is in financial trouble. When a company the age and size of Eastman Kodak files for bankruptcy protection then you know things are serious. The problem is that if any company fails to move with the times it risks getting stranded and left behind. Although it invented the hand-held camera it no longer has the monopoly on photographic goods. Kodak has recently been heavily advertising its printer range with their low cost ink refills, and I think the idea has certainly caught on with the public. At least bankruptcy protection will allow the firm to reorganise itself and keep its creditors off its back for a while.
